If you're stuck for something to do on a cold or rainy day, the Ville de Genève has just published an 80-page online, downloadable color brochure outlining, in English, each of the main exhibitions taking place in Geneva from January to June 2017.

Covering all the major museums and cultural centers in Geneva, the guide is divided into 6 main categories of interest including: Art and History; World Arts and Cultures; International Geneva; Literature; Nature, Science and Technology; and Art Centres and Exhibition Spaces.

For each of the exhibitions listed, the brochure also includes entry prices (where applicable, most are free), and useful information on how to access the venues via public transport. Contact details and website addresses are also helpful for those who require further details.

With this year marking the 50th anniversary of the Natural History Museum in Malagnou and 200 years since the creation of the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, the number and range of exhibitions on offer will undoubtedly have increased compared to previous years. So there should be plenty of choice for the whole family!

Since we first published details about the newly launched Geneva Photo Club on our site back in April 2015, the association has gone from strength to strength! The demand for good quality photography courses, targeted at different levels of skill and experience on a range of topics in both English and French, has grown so much that they have just announced the launch of a whole new range of courses in Lausanne.

In January the organization will offer 4 different courses in Lausanne, with more already scheduled for February and beyond.  So “beginners” living near Lausanne can now choose from half-day, full-day, weekday or weekend courses to help them learn more about photography and the software tools that professionals use to create amazing photos!

On the 18 January, a new photographic exhibition with special appeal to both adults and children will open at the Cité du Temps gallery in Geneva.

Called “Microcosmes”, the exhibition will feature the work of Sofiane Samlal, a French photographer known internationally on social media as Samsofy for his unique style of photography, which focuses on the much-loved, small yellow characters found in Lego®!

Using Street Art combined with clever props adapted from local materials and installations, Samsofy produces photographs that deliver a variety of adult messages on topics ranging from humor and poetry to politics. On a purely artistic level, his photos succeed in capturing the imagination of children, are highly creative, and are simply lots of fun to behold!

A new health and well-being center has opened between Geneva and Lausanne, offering a wide range of services for the expat and local communities of the Terre-Sainte region.  Called Health Quota, the new center is conveniently located near to the Mies station, in a large, airy space, which provides a cross-functional approach to physical, mental and nutritional well-being.

Building on the success of its 4-year-old CrossFit Terre Sainte core gym business, the newly rebranded Health Quota center is the brain-child of three local women, Rebecca Bar-Tur, Mandy Thomas, and Melodie Mazur.  With a common vision to help people embrace healthy and happy lives, the three women have embarked on a mission of broadening the appeal of the center to include a much wider range of services such as yoga, Pilates, stretching, running, and other specialized exercise classes as well as beauty, massage and life services.

intersoccerbirthdayparty 2

In a special drive to promote its birthday party packages for 2017, InterSoccer is offering knowitall.ch readers a special 10% discount on all birthday parties booked with them before the end of this month.

If your child loves football, this is a fantastic way to celebrate his/her birthday with a  football/multisports/sports themed party...and save yourself a bit of money for extra presents as well!

Every InterSoccer birthday party kicks off with a fun warm-up session, followed by some exciting soccer games before the main event, the “InterSoccer Match”, where, depending on numbers, partygoers will be split into teams and take part in a fun-oriented mini tournament refereed by InterSoccer's qualified coaches.

However, the standard party package can be customised to suit the individual needs of the  birthday child - so children aged 3 years can expect a slightly different format to older teens.  If you would rather have a multi-sports theme, that is also possible.
