On Saturday, 4 October at 5.30pm, the Lions de Genève basketball club will host their opening match at the Salle de Pommier in Grand Sacconnex.
As Geneva’s Sports Team of the Year for 2013 and current Swiss Vice Champions, the Lions de Genève have become one of the most successful basketball clubs in Switzerland since they were first established in 2010.
In only 4 years, the Lions de Genève have won three titles (Swiss LNA Championship and the Swiss Cup in 2013, and Swiss Cup again in 2014) and have played in 5 finals. Last Spring they were designated by the city of the Geneva, as the Sports Team of the Year. Now the current Swiss Vice-Champions are vying to re-claim the national title this year and have a vision of representing Switzerland in the Europe Cup. To celebrate the beginning of a promising new season, the club has offered knowitall.ch readers the chance to win 12 double tickets for their opening match against SAM Basket, which will be played in full NBA style, with music, cheerleaders, the Lions mascot, a Fanzone and a fun-filled half-time show!
With lots of entertainment for the whole family, competition winners will have the option of buying additional tickets for their children, subject to availability. See below for the ticket prices.
To enter the competition, just fill in this form and let us know in what year the Lions de Genève basketball team was first established. Just one application per person is allowed. The competition closes at midnight on Wednesday 1 October, 2014. The names of all those with the correct answer will be placed in the digital hat and the winners’ names will be drawn at random the following day. The winners will be notified by email and their names published at the bottom of this article. Winning tickets may be collected from the ticket desk on the day of the match, just before it begins. Doors open at 4.15pm so you should get there early to make sure you get a good seat as there is no assigned seating.
