Following the huge success of last year’s giant water slide, Gliss ‘en Ville will return to Geneva this summer even bigger and better than before!
Not only will the slide be an extra 30 m long, but there will also be a new launch pad this year, and an increase in the water flow to improve the sliding sensation! The opening hours will also be extended, from 10h to 20h, to allow more people to have fun!
For a whole day, the Rue Voltaire will be closed to cars to create a holiday atmosphere for everyone to enjoy – participants and spectators alike. In 2015, more than 8000 people joined in the festival spirit, which reigned throughout the day.
As in 2015, sliding accessories such as huge inflatable tyres will be provided throughout the day so that everyone gets the most out of their sliding experience! Whilst the total number of participants allowed on the slide will increase this year, the number of people allowed on the slide each hour will be reduced to improve the flow of “traffic”. For extra comfort, there will also be an additional layer of mousse under the slide.
This year, in addition to the water slide, there will be a new “Village d’Animation” so everyone can have fun, especially those too young to go on the water slide, or those who simply don’t want to get wet. Look out for the bouncy castle, workshops for children, sporting activities, partner stands, and food trucks, as well as the relaxation zone where you can chill out when the excitement gets too much.
For safety reasons, children under the age of 7 and/or measuring less than 1m30 will not be allowed on the side. Children less than 10 years must also be accompanied by an adult on the slide. 3 people will be able to launch themselves on the slide at the same time .
Tickets can be purchased online at www.glissenville.ch and are priced at Fr. 10.- for an hour’s worth of descents, at a time to be specified when you buy your tickets. Only 5000 tickets will be offered so if you are interested, don’t delay to avoid disappointment! Last year, the tickets sold out very quickly.
Once you have your electronic ticket, you will need to exchange it for a bracelet giving you access to the slide, which is non-transferrable and will be color-coded according to the hour slot that has been purchased. The can be exchanged either:
- From 1 to 10 June at the Planète Charmille shopping center.
- On the day of the event from 9h at the area designated “Retrait des billets”. You can pick up bracelets 2 hours before your allocated slot – so if you have a slot booked between 15h and 16, you can pick up your ticket between 13h and 15h.
