Now in its 7th year, Les Automnales is back in Geneva between 13 and 22 November, even bigger and better than before!
With nearly 700 exhibitors, spread out over 8 concurrent life-style exhibitions and situated across 5 different halls at Palexpo, this year’s fair is set to attract even more visitors than in previous years. Indeed, the event has become so successful that last year saw a 45% increase in attendance compared to 2009.
In addition to the six exhibitions that featured at last year’s fair:

- Salon de l’art du mouvement, from 13-22 November
- Le Salon de la Voyance, from 13-22 November
- L’exposition Canine Internationale, 21 and 22 November

there will be 2 new exhibitions this year, covering both nautical and holiday/leisure activities:
- Le Salon Nautique du Léman, from 13-15 November
- Le Salon des Vacances, Voyages et Loisirs, from 13-15 November
A huge program of activities has been set up for the 10 days of the fair, including popular favourites such as dog shows, children's play areas, and workshops for all ages, covering everything from well-being and personal development through to creative projects involving recycled materials. There will also be a Christmas market packed with original ideas for festive presents, processions by Mr & Mrs Suisse Romande, a roller-skating piste, a photographic exhibition and cooking competitions — not to mention the farm, which is even larger this year and will feature live sheep-shearing and wool-spinning.
Replacing the Revue des Automnales this year is a new 50-minute cabaret that will be performed twice daily at 16h and 19h. In addition to comedy, singing and dancing performances, the show will finish with a genuine French Cancan, not to be missed! You can view the full list of animations by clicking here.
One of the most exciting booths at the show this year, measuring 800m2, will be the airline stand for SWISS. As this year’s Hôte d’Honneur at Les Automnales, SWISS has organized a wide range of activities for both young and old. One of the top attractions is a mockup of the cabin of their Bombardier C Series plane, a new generation of planes scheduled to fly out of Geneva Airport in 2016 and, of course, there will be a flight simulator which is certain to draw in the crowds! Young children will have lots of fun pretending to drive SWISS cargo lorries, and food lovers will adore the chocolate fountain (on Sundays only) and other delicacies prepared by the airline’s celebrated chefs. In addition to a special area dedicated to the technical aspects of their planes, there will also be a Lounge Area, a photo booth, and an area for recruiting airline staff.
Top live attractions provided by SWISS include:
- Stéphane Lambiel will put on his roller skates on Friday, 13 November, for the grand inauguration.
- Bastian Baker, the famous Swiss singer, will perform exclusively for Les Automnales on 14 November.
- Joél Dicker, who has just published his third novel, will sign his books on 21 November.
As Invité d’Honneur, the Foundation des Parkings has also lined up an exciting array of activities along the theme of mobility, new technologies and safety. Pedal cars, toto-écolos, mini Segways, and trendy electric scooters will be available for the public to use on a special course, designed to test their skills to the limit. It will also be possible to try out a new PayByPhone system designed to make parking easier, navigate an obstacle course wearing special glasses, attend first-aid demonstrations and, of course, find out more about the services of the foundation. Needless-to-say, there will be plenty of opportunity to win prizes throughout the 10 days of the fair!
As in previous years, there will be a vast array of food outlets at the fair, including 18 restaurants offering everything from crêpes and raclette, through to sushi and steaks. There will even be a special restaurant, La Gamelle, dedicated to serving military food.
Tickets for the fair are priced at Fr. 10.- for adults, Fr. 5.- for students, and are free for children up to 16 years of age. NOTE: On Wednesday, 18 November, entry is free for everyone. The tickets provide entry to all the shows open on the day of purchasing your ticket, and include access to the animations, workshops, performances, exhibitions, and play areas — not to mention the free advice of the various skilled professionals manning the stands throughout the show.
