A learning program teaching children science and technology basics using LEGO® bricks has opened a new, bigger venue to celebrate its 2nd year in Switzerland.
Echichens entrepreneur and mother-of-four, Valérie Couderc, opened the BRICKS 4 KIDZ® Creativity Center in Saint-Sulpice two years ago. Since that time, the company has seen a steady growth in demand for its after-school and in-school workshops, as well as for birthday parties and holiday activities.
Valérie opened the new, bigger resource center in October and will host an official inauguration on Friday, 25th (16h to 19h) and Saturday, November 26th 2016 (9h30 to 13h), where children will be able to take part in a free LEGO® bricks play session, whilst parents enjoy a drink! The new address is: Rue du Centre 42E in Saint-Sulpice.
The company also offers workshops at venues in Geneva and Martigny and at several schools.
The former corporate financial manager told knowitall.ch: “We offer a STEM-based (science, technology, engineering, and maths) enrichment program using LEGO bricks. The children think they’re playing, but they’re learning through hands-on activities building innovative moving creations, including robotics projects. Our school workshops are aligned to the curriculum and help to consolidate difficult STEM concepts.”
Valérie, who also recently acquired the master franchise for Switzerland and neighbouring France, believes the traditional appeal of LEGO in Switzerland and a strong educational focus on science and technology, is behind the success of the company.
“Parents want their children to learn about technology in a constructive way – not just playing computer games. They are also seeking out innovative ways to boost maths and science skills.”
