Free admission to the food museum on 4 and 5 June 2016!
After nine months of renovation work, the Alimentarium will reopen its doors on 4 June 2016. The food museum has been completely redesigned from top to bottom, with a new permanent exhibition and places to eat, relax and experiment. There is also a new range of culinary workshops and a revamped website, that has been transformed into a powerful online knowledge center, available in 3 different languages. With its new digital ecosystem, the museum is set to become the world’s leading information center on food and nutrition - a museum to be savored, either in person or virtually from all round the world!
Food - The essence of life: Travel to the heart of food
Designed as a fun, interactive journey, the permanent exhibition invites adults and children alike to explore the fascinating world of the food of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The new scenography brings together discovery, experimentation and knowledge enhancement in three new sectors: Food, Society and The Body. Each one uses film screenings, interactive terminals and video installations to create an unforgettable immersive experience that reveals the influence food has on the body and the environment.
Since it first started running soccer courses in Geneva in 2005, InterSoccer has become one of the most popular household names among expats living in Switzerland.
Literally thousands of boys and girls, aged from 3 to 13 years old, have benefited from their wide range of recreational and competitive football courses and camps, which run throughout the holidays as well as during the school term. All children, no matter what their skill level, are welcome at InterSoccer.
This summer, InterSoccer will be organizing Mini Camps for 3-5 year-olds, Junior camps for 5-9 year-olds, and Academy level camps for 10-13 year-olds. There are also special camps devoted entirely to goalkeepers (8-13 years), as well as ones targeted just at girls (5-13 years). There is even a special camp being led by the Youth Coach from Millwall FC, Andy Massey.
Additionally, in 2016 the Tottenham Hotspur International Player Development Camp (5-13 years) will run in Varembé, Geneva. The Premier League Club Tottenham Hotspur, who finished 3rd for the 2015/2016 season therefore qualifying for the Champions League, will be sending two UEFA B Coaches to an InterSoccer Summer Camp on Monday 11 July – Friday 15 July. The camps will be a great chance for children to improve their skills and techniques in a fun and friendly environment under the supervision of the highly qualified Tottenham Hotspur coaches. Boys and girls doing two days or more will receive a Tottenham Hotspur replica home shirt plus a medal. There will also be a Tottenham Hotspur 1 Day Camp on Saturday 16 July on Versoix. At Know-it-all passport® there aren’t many kids camps that escape our notice – we have virtually every type of activity covered in the book and on our website, so no matter what your child is into, you can be sure to find something that matches his/her needs.
However, it’s not every day that a camp makes up sit up and say, “Wow, this is something really special – can we sign up as well as the kids?!"
So when we first heard about Maddy Deigert’s series of Peak Results camps last year, we were sure they would be an immediate success – and they were! Which is why she is back again this year with a whole new offering, likely to be fully booked within days of being announced! So if you’re interested, don’t delay in signing up!
This summer, Peak Results is offering 4 main camps for kids aged 5 to 17, that are sure to ignite your child’s creativity and curiosity, whilst allowing them to indulge their adventurous or entrepreneurial spirit. In short, the camps combine creative and logical thinking, physical activity, imagination, hands-on building, a bit of science and math, adventure, some traditional camping activities, parent involvement and a whole lot of fun! While the camps are based in Gilly, the adventurous component of each of the activities will take place all over Switzerland.

The event is coordinated by the Department of Culture and Sport of the City of Geneva.
Amusing, mystical, esoteric or illusionist, magic in all its guises appears Hey Presto! on the programme. This common thread is one of the special features of Museum Night in Geneva, with many institutions proposing a highly creative approach to the theme.

Finally, projection mapping performances will light up MEG at nightfall.
