Would you like to see your photograph published in the 2nd edition of Education Guide Switzerland due out end-of-May this year?

We would like one winning photo per canton. Each photo will be used as a full-page canton chapter separator. See below for rules and prizes. We also have a few extra categories like “Academic Extras”, “Just Across the Border”, and “Other” which you can explore in the first edition of the book. We would consider entries for those chapters as well.

Don’t forget to bring along a copy of your Know-it-all passport to Leman Expat Fair, which is taking place on Sunday, 31 October from 11h-17h, at Beaulieu in Lausanne.

Lisa Cirieco-Ohlman, editor of the book, is repeating the special offer she made at Expat Expo earlier in the month, and is asking customers to bring in their 2009/2010 edition.  All you have to do is find your old green copy at home and bring it to Lisa on the stand (table 21) who will trade it in for the new edition for just Fr. 25.-. Since the regular price is Fr. 38.- in stores, this is a great incentive to upgrade.

A team of 14 people updated the 7th edition, which includes over 700 pages and features literally hundreds of new entries.  In response to customer demand, two new sections covering NIGHT LIFE and CHOCOLATE have also been added.

To help readers look up information more quickly than before, all entries have been reclassified to form a new, improved TABLE OF CONTENTS. The new sections can be easily identified by the full-page photos, which were sent in for our photography contest - see the winner's names here. Thousands of individual entries can also be accessed via the 27-page index at the back of the book.

A percentage of the profits of Know-it-all passport are being donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, another reason to continue to purchase the new edition!

So don’t forget to bring your old copy to Expat-Expo (www.expat-expo.info/Geneva.html) and take advantage of this great offer, which lasts for one day only on Sunday 10 October!

In response to demand from our visitors, knowitall.ch has launched two new sections, which we think you will find useful!

Local Activities is a new area of the site, dedicated to helping you find the best courses, camps and classes for adults or children.  In addition to a new Search Activities function that allows you to look-up activities in your area, we have added a new Activities Calendar, where you can compare different activities all on one screen!

Since this is an entirely new initiative that relies on input from you, we urgently request you send us details of any classes, courses or camps you are organizing in the coming months.  Click here to find out more about the different options available to you.

Local Holidays is a useful addition to the site, helping you to plan your activities around important public and school holidays.  Given the huge discrepancies in holidays, not only between Switzerland and France but also between different cantons and departments within these countries, we’re sure you’ll be coming back frequently to this area of the site!  Click here to find out more or go straight to our Holidays Calendar.

These two new calendars are offered in conjunction with our highly successuful Events Calendar, which features hundreds of events, carefully categorised to allow you to look up information as quickly as possible.  Click on the calendars in the left hand column to go straight to the calendar of your choice or fill out one of the forms below to submit your event or activity to the site:
