Three of the winners in Know-it-all passport’s recent amateur photo competition had the chance to visit local printer, Imprimerie Nationale Rochat-Baumann, to see the first pages of the book come hot-off-the-press!
Fabien Scotti, Steven McDermott, and Dana Cosio-Mercado were just three of the eight winners chosen from nearly 250 entries for the competition. Their photos will be used as section separators in the new 7th edition of Know-it-all passport ® 2011/2012, which is due out at the end-of-August this year. After a visit through the pre-press section, the winners were shown how the printing film is developed on an aluminum sheet. Once the ink has rolled over this sheet, the ink is transferred to a rubberized drum roll and then printed on the paper (right-side up).
In addition to being invited to the view the printing of the book, each of the winners will receive two copies of the new edition.
