Be it as the Lone Prospector in The Gold Rush, a factory worker in Modern Times or the unforgettable Great Dictator, there’s a bit of Chaplin’s timeless magic in each one of us. A true one-man band, he was altogether an actor, director and composer. One of the few screen actors whose career didn’t end with the advent of talkies, he was also a smart businessman, co-founder of the United Artists.

In 1952, fleeing McCarthyism, Charlie Chaplin chose to settle at the Manoir de Ban in Corsier-sur-Vevey with his wife and children. How was life growing up in Switzerland with seven siblings and a father who was undisputedly one of the most famous artists of his time? What is his legacy today, and how can his art and memory be kept alive?

We have the privilege to witness Chaplin’s life as told by his son Eugene, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts of London who carries on the artistic legacy as a writer, producer, actor and director. Having worked at the Grand Théâtre de Genève and Montreux’ Mountain Studios, he’s also the founder of a TV network, former Artistic Director of the Nock Circus and member of jury of many circus festivals around the world.

Christmas Special: Meet The Chaplins
Come and celebrate the end of the year with the BSCC Lausanne Chapter in the home and spirit of one of the world’s most famous British artists, Charlie Chaplin! With a presentation by his son Eugene, who carries on the artistic legacy as a writer, producer, actor and director.
