This annual rose competition, Concours international de roses nouvelles de Genève, has been held every year since 1947. Of course, the roses are in their glory throughout the season so make sure to get down there before they fade.
Not only are the roses themselves entered into this competition but there is also a photography competition open to the public (from age 10). Check website for details.
Send in no more than one entry per month between June and October to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. along with your entire name, email, and the location the photo was taken. This year's theme (2011) is a triptych (3 panels).
What is a triptych? It is a set of 3 panels or group or 3 photos that go together. It must portray roses in some way, shape, or form. Maybe you would like to take 3 detailed photos (thorn, stem, petal), or maybe you have 3 different color roses you would like to see together. It is up to you to be creative. Make sure to keep snapping your photos throughout the season as you are allowed to send in one triptych per month between June and October. The best 2 will be chosen per month and then the final will be between those 10 photo triptychs.
On the 18th June there will be the ceremony for the rose festival. See our link here.
