Following its huge success last year, the Verbier Cross Triathlon will return to the beautiful Val de Bagnes region for another weekend of high energy fun, not just for the participants but the spectators too!
From 1 – 2 September, the organization 123cross.com will host a series of sporting events in Le Châble, for all ages covering open water swimming, mid-level mountain biking, and trail running. While most of the races will take place on the Sunday, a special Fête d’Eté will also take place in the event village over both days and will feature a wide range of activities for all the family including massage clinics, a big trampoline on the water, water-walkers, stand-up paddle boarding, electric biking, a kids area and much more!

To keep your energy levels up for all the actvities on offer, there will be lots of cafés, restaurants and bars open, offering a variety of healthy, nutritious food at affordable prices. - 10h – 11h : Kids' Triathlon training session
- 16h – 18h : Last registration for the races on Sunday 2 September: Verbier Classic and Sprint X-Triathlons / Swim & Run / Bike & Run / Swim & Bike

SUNDAY 2 SEPTEMBER 2018
- 9h to 12h: Last chance to register for the Kids’ Triathlon
- 9h – 13h : All Adult and Junior Triathlon and Duathlon races
- 10h30 – 19h : Fête d’Eté with lots of different activities, including live music plus DJ !
- 14h – 15h : Kids’ Triathlon and Duathlon
- 16h – 16h30 : Prize giving
- 16h30 – 18h : Live music and "open mic"
La Fête d’Eté will run from 10h30 – 18h although the shops, food, bars etc. will be open from 9h in the morning for all the spectators to enjoy. After 18h the bars, restaurants will stop serving and the event site will close at 19h.
Tickets for the festival activities and lunch options can be purchased on the day, but there are some savings to be made if you buy the passes in advance. A day pass for the family including all activities can be purchased for just Fr. 35.-. Food and drink tokens normally worth Fr. 30.- can also be bought online for just Fr. 25.-. Lots of sporting events to choose from!
To encourage as many people as possible to enter the races, it is possible to register for many of the events right up until the day before, and some even on the day of the event. However, there are limited spaces on the adult races so you are advised to register online in advance if you want to be sure of getting place.
Children can enter:
- Kids’ Duathlon, age 4 to 7
- Kids’ Triathlon, age 7 to 15

Adults and youths can choose from:
- Classic X-Triathlon (1500m swim, 24km bike with 900m altitude, and 12km run with 280m altitude), age 17+
- Sprint X-Triathlon (500m swim, 14km bike with 450m altitude, and 6km run with 170m altitude), age 15+
- Duathlon: Swim & Run / Bike & Run / Swim & Bike (1500m swim, 24km bike with 900m altitude, and 12km run with 280m altitude), age 15+

Affordable entry fees
The registration fee for the sporting events varies from Fr. 15.- for the Kids' Triathlon event up to Fr. 80.- for the Classic X-Triathlon and Fr. 130.- for the team relay event. Click here for more information. https://123cross.com/pricing/.
A free food voucher is included in the registration fee for all events. There is also a chance to win some great prizes donated by local sponsors. The Kids’ Triathlon entry fee also includes a bracelet to enter all the activities at the Fête d’Ete for free.

Only one entry per person and per email is allowed for each of the competitions – but you can enter both! Both competitions close at midnight on Wednesday, 29 August 2018. The names of all those submitting correct answers will be placed into the digital hat and the winners’ names drawn at random on Thursday, 30 August 2018.
The first name drawn in the Family Tickets competition will be offered a family ticket with lunch for Saturday 1 September 2018. The second name drawn in the Family Tickets competition will be offered a family ticket excluding lunch for the same day.
The first five names to be drawn in the Kids’ Triathlon competition will each receive a free entry to the Kids' Triathlon as well as a free pass for the activities on Sunday 2 September 2018.
All the winners will be notified by email and their names will be added to this article after the competition closes.
