New website highlights growing demand for internet-based services
If you like watching English TV and have lived in this region for a few years, chances are that you will have installed a satellite dish to watch your favorite TV programmes.
For many people with satellite, the Freesat service has been more than sufficient to allow them access to a wide selection of free channels, without the hassle of recurring monthly fees. For others, the lure of subscription services like Sky, with its various TV packages covering everything from sport and kids TV through to documentaries and films, is just too much to resist!

Although the initial cost for this package is just Fr. 149.-, you should take note that there is an additional cost of Fr. 22.- per month for the VPN subscription, which allows you to access English TV services abroad, plus any additional costs you incur for Sky TV packages.

Freeview streamer
The Freeview streamer operates much like the Now TV box but includes all the Freeview channels. It connects to your TV with an HD cable and offers viewing in 1080pi for some channels (Full HD). Priced at just Fr. 199.-, this streaming device gives you access to a wide range of games, movies, sports, Live TV, On Demand and Catch Up services, as well as the popular streaming service, Netflix. Over 60 channels are included in the basic price, but if you want to upgrade to premium TV channels this will cost you an addition £5.99 per month (payable by UK credit card). As with the Now TV, there is an additional cost of Fr. 22.- per month for the VPN subscription after the first 30 days of use.

Sky GO
Sky GO is a great option for anyone who wants to access Sky channels on their ipad, laptop, PC or Mac from anywhere in the world.
Priced at Fr. 30.- per month, this package includes a UK VPN connection for your digital device (only one access at a time) as well as your Sky GO subscription, which includes all 7 of the Live Sky Sports channels as well as 12 Sky Movie channels. With your new UK VPN connection, you will also have access to other free and paid UK streaming services that would not otherwise be legally accessible abroad.

UK VPN router
You can also purchase the VPN router separately without the NOW TV box. This option is mainly for existing Sky TV subscribers who wish to access the "Catch Up TV" and other services your Sky box offers when connected to the internet.
If you want the option to be able to watch English TV on a number of digital devices at the same time, then it may also be worth you purchasing your own UK VPN router. This connects to your existing broadband router, providing you with a new Wifi network with its own dedicated UK IP address.
For a monthly VPN subscription of Fr. 22.- per month (or Fr. 250.- for 12 months), you can then watch all your favorite UK TV shows on catch up at any time from any location in the world. You can also pay for additional streaming services like Amazon TV as and when you feel like it.
And if you connect a Sky + HD Decoder to the router, you will have access to the full range of Sky+ Services including Sky Store, Sky Catch Up TV, Sky Cinema and Sky Boxsets.

Additional options
Whilst it’s not promoted as one of the 4 main options on their site, it is also possible to purchase a UK VPN connection for just Fr. 15.- per month. Unlike the UK VPN router, this is not a plug and play service - you will have to load special software on each of the devices that you will be using to access the streamed TV services and, most importantly, you will only have access from one device at a time.
