If you’re one of those people that loves adorning your home with beautiful, fresh and colorful flowers, then Miss Daisy is definitely the place for you!
Miss Daisy Fresh Dutch Flowers provides bouquet subscriptions and flower arrangements for both private and corporate clients between Geneva and Lausanne. With each subscription, clients can pay for at least five bouquets in advance with a choice of weekly, two-weekly or monthly delivery. Bouquets are delivered for free within about a 10km radius of Céligny, and clients have the flexibility to pause or cancel a delivery at any time, or even have their next bouquet delivered to a friend’s house for a change!
Miss Daisy also provide workshops in which participants learn how to make special arrangements with flowers and other materials.
Miss Daisy was born out of a nostalgic sentiment felt by three Dutch girls living in Switzerland: Rose Mensing, Corrina Lokerse and Helen Willemsen. Happy as they were enjoying all Switzerland has to offer.... they were missing one thing: the buckets full of colourful and affordable flowers that would brighten up their homes every week back in The Netherlands. They missed the lovely bouquets they would take to friends and family and receive in return, the strolls along market stalls and the creativity in designing arrangements with lovely Dutch design accessories...
Rose told knowitall.ch, “After many years of frustration about the choice, quality and price of flowers in Switzerland, we felt the time was ready to show what “real" bouquets can look like! We started in May this year and with some creativity, the right contacts and good service we have been able to charm a growing group of customers: expats and locals, private and business, offices and restaurants.”
Miss Daisy offers two types of bouquets:
• the Miss Daisy 'Classic' for Fr. 35.-: a regular favorite! A colourful mid-size bouquet with different types of flowers, suitable for most medium-sized vases.
• the Miss Daisy 'Extravaganza': a very large bouquet, suitable for bigger vases and spaces. For Fr. 85.- you will receive an 'over-the-top' arrangement for which Miss Daisy will choose beautiful combinations of seasonal flowers. The Extravaganza can be tailored to your wishes; you can opt for more colourful or ton-sur-ton.
Flowers are delivered every Thursday afternoon, between 12h and 19h. The stems are also cut so they can go straight into the vase. Clients don't even have to stay at home to receive their bouquets! They can also leave a bucket outside their door and Miss Daisy will take care of it. They will fill it with water and leave the bouquet at a place of preference!
Subscriptions are for a minimum of 5 deliveries (always on Thursdays) with payment upfront. After that, subscriptions can be renewed for another 5 deliveries. The bouquets are different every week, and are designed to surprise the client, with seasonal adjustments where appropriate. It I also possible to order a single bouquet and have it delivered to your house, but the cost is slightly higher at Fr. 45.- for the regular bouquet. Flowers can also be delivered to downtown Geneva or Lausanne at a small additional cost.
Asked what makes their flower business so special in this region, Corrina told us, “Being Dutch and knowing our way with flowers and how to import them directly from the Flora Holland Flower Exchange, we can offer the most beautiful and fresh flower bouquets and arrangements for a competitive price. Our bouquets are not standard, but instead they span a variety of styles. Sometimes subtle and pastel-coloured, other times wild and colourful, we combine flowers that have a modern and original feel, quite different from what is on offer in this area.”
If you need more convincing, this is what one client, Scott Poynton, had to say about his experience of Miss Daisy, “I was one of Miss Daisy's first customers. Their offer to deliver beautiful bouquets of flowers direct to our door at a very reasonable price was too enticing to ignore. I am one of these guys who likes to buy my wife flowers but it doesn't happen as often as it should because I'm not often in front of a flower shop or, when I am, I'm buying something else, have the kids with me, etc...too many reasons for failure!
“So when I saw the opportunity from Miss Daisy I thought it was worth a try. I haven't been disappointed. My wife was so thrilled with the first bouquet and has never once been disappointed. I love them too as they brighten the house and they're always different, colourful and beautiful. They get delivered home every week and the Miss Daisy team are very flexible; if we can't be at home to receive the flowers, they're happy to delay for a week or to make alternative arrangements. Then the price is great and so reasonable. We often wonder at the beautiful flowers and think "what a great bargain".
“I have continued to sign up to my weekly subscription since the very first delivery and will continue to do so. All in all, I couldn't be happier with Miss Daisy and the real joy they bring to our house.”
With such a wealth of experience between them, Miss Daisy’s team is also keen to pass on its knowledge of working with flowers to others. Helen remarked, "We have inspiration for years to come! With fresh flowers one can make countless beautiful things!" So Miss Daisy also offers a series of workshops, ranging from how to make table wreaths and advent wreaths, through to floral garlands and seasonal center pieces. There are several workshops being held before Christmas, with some places still remaining, so please check dates and availabilities on the Miss Daisy website at www.missdaisy.ch.
To encourage knowitall.ch readers to try out their workshops, Miss Daisy is offering a 10% discount off any of their workshops booked before the end of 2015. Just mention this article when you make your booking.
