Are you attracted to beautiful objects, do you love having an elegant agenda to write your appointments in, do you feel that paper is still necessary in the age of electronic devices? Then you must visit Marianne Domec's newly renovated quaint boutique in the heart of old Vésenaz! She will open up a world of personalized stationery and custom invitations suitable to anyone, as well as a fantastic range of desk accessories.

Marianne tells us, "We are trying to create a fashionable desk: acrylic desk accessories, golden scissors, file folders in soft pastel colors, good-looking notebooks, journals, sticky notes, notepads, and pretty pens and pencils from Kate Spade. It's all about the stylish desk… no more ugly folders!"

Personalized stationery is an expression of one’s individuality and sense of style, and Un Petit Mot in Vieux-Vésenaz presents choices for those who recognize that handwritten letters and cards are an enduring gift of sentiment, and an expression of personal style whose time is definitely not past. At first, choosing personal stationery or custom invitations can seem like a daunting task: there are so many choices, where does one begin? Marianne Domec’s special talent is to guide her clients through the galaxy of options.

A native Texan, Marianne received her undergraduate degree in business administration from Texas A&M, and a masters in business administration from Thunderbird, Arizona, where she followed an intensive course of study in French and International Business. After interning in financial services in France, Marianne returned to the United States, working as a buyer in the perfume and cosmetics industry. She had left her heart in Paris, however, and after three years in New York City she returned to France, taking a position in export sales with the prestigious fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, where she exercised huge autonomy and responsibility for duty-free cosmetic and perfume sales. After managing the US and Caribbean markets, Marianne was made responsible for various regions of Europe, where her work took her to such far-flung destinations as Barcelona, Venice, Tel Aviv, Moscow, and Dublin.

After nine years at YSL, Marianne left to start a family, and it was the birth in Paris of her son, Christophe that led to Marianne’s search for stylish, quality personalized birth announcements. She was amazed and disappointed by the lack of choice, personal connection, and service. This was the seed from which Un Petit Mot grew. As a life-long letter writer, Marianne’s love of fine papers and exacting flair for design led her to open Un Petit Mot, a business catering to those with a corresponding sense for connection and self expression.
