Williams Services, a local Swiss company specializing in the installation of satellites, TVs, and electrical installations, has just launched a new package that will enable expats living in Switzerland to watch Sky TV and other UK TV packages via internet.
With an introductory price of just Fr 399.- (normal price Fr. 499.-), available only throughout the first quarter of this year, the new package includes a NOW TV box, a UKTV router, and a 12 months subscription to a VPN connection enabling clients to watch UK television legally, via the internet, from abroad. Significantly, anyone wishing to watch Sky TV will no longer need to purchase and install a satellite dish to access this service, something which can occasionally pose a problem in rental properties.
Describing the new package to knowitall.ch, owner Daryl Williams told us, “Our new package includes access to over 600 movies from Sky Movies On Demand, which is updated weekly to feature new movies as they are released as well as many timeless classics. Not only is the Movie subscription free for the first 30 days of your Sky Movies subscription, but some NOW TV boxes are currently being offered with an additional 3 month Pass to Movies, meaning some clients may get to watch as many films as they like for free over the first 4 months! After the free trial period is over, you pay just £8.99 per month, but can cancel or restart whenever you want, so there are no scary contracts, which can often tie you in for months. In addition to Sky Movies On Demand, clients also have access to Sky Store, a database of over 1000 top films, which can be rented from as little as 99p per movie.”
He continued “ Sports lovers will love the flexibility of the new Sky Sports Day Pass, which at £9.99 gives you 24-hour access to all 6 Sky Sports Channels. So when you have a big match coming up, what better way to relax with friends than pitching together to watch your favorite team play live on the TV!”
For an additional £4.99 per month, clients can also subscribe to the Entertainment Pass, which provides Live TV and Catch up TV access to 10 of the UK’s best pay TV channels. These include Sky Atlantic, Sky 1, Sky Living, Sky Arts1, Gold, MTV, Fox, Discovery, Disney and Comedy Central. As with the Sports package, there are no lengthy contracts, and clients can simply “pay as they go”, or cancel the subscription whenever they wish.
Offered with the NOW TV box is the ability to download approximately 50 Apps, providing free access to: popular catch-up TV services such as BBCiplayer, 4oD and Demand5; news channels such as Sky News, BBC News, CNBC, and Fox News; and websites such as Spotify and Facebook. There are plans to release many more Apps throughout the year, so if your favorite App is not currently listed, there is a good chance it may be added to the list shortly!
One recent client told knowitall.ch, "We live in an apartment and installing a satellite dish is not allowed by our Regie. We have been stuck with BBC Entertainment as our only English TV channel for over a year now and there is only a certain amount of DVDs you can buy, borrow or rent until you start to get a bit bored. My wife is a huge Eastenders fan and with a 7 day catch up service on the BBCiplayer she never misses her shows!"
He concluded, "All in all I can highly recommend the NOW TV box. Great value and a great product. It really has changed the way we watch TV! The UKTV router is also great as my son now watches BBCiplayer, etc. on his ipad whenever he wants! I even had some relatives stay with us at Christmas and they signed in on their ipads to the router and were watching Sky Go! It really is brilliant. Just like being in the U.K."
