Geneva Lux is a free festival of lights, organized by the Département de la sécurité et des sports de la Ville de Genève (Department of Security and Sports of the City of Geneva), will take place between 19 January and 4 February 2024.
Geneva Lux: 10 years of magic
This year's edition is unlike any other. The Geneva Lux festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary. It now boasts a true cultural dimension, featuring creations that are works in their own right, signed by renowned light artists. Some of the works are original, while others travel across Europe and stop off in the Rade de Genève, like a museum hosting a temporary exhibition.
Geneva Lux also helps to boost Geneva's appeal by encouraging people to get out and enjoy a free moment of urban poetry.
This 10th edition brings nearly thirty luminous works, a third of them never before seen in Geneva. Several astonishing performances will also brighten up your weekend evenings during the festival. And, as last year, the public can enjoy a glass of mulled wine or a cup of tea at the festival refreshment bar on Quai du Mont-Blanc.

DUNDU - 19-21 January 2024
The Giants of light
Friday, 19 January 2024 - 18h30 - Jardin Anglais
Saturday, 20 January 2024 - 18h30 – in front of the Bains des Pâquis

Inspiring people the world over, THE GIANTS OF LIGHT stand out for their ability to express emotions and tell universal stories of solidarity. The Dundu are majestic puppets with flexible, transparent bodies. They wander around gently, accompanied by the melodious sounds of the Kora, a harp native to West Africa. Their almost
human-like behaviour is sure to surprise you. Come and meet them and let yourself be captivated.
These giants will open the festival with a performance evoking the birth of light. The term "Dundu", translated as "DU UND DU" or "you and you", symbolizes a beautiful metaphor for human life. It reminds us that, together, we are capable of exceptional achievements, and that each of us is an integral part of a whole.
Don't miss their appearance around the Rade between 18h30 and 21h the 19-20 January 2024 and at the Maison de l'enfance et de l'adolescence on 21 January 2024 at 17h.

AKA is the embodiment of the essential: the puppet in motion, a pure organic sound, a heartbeat, a breath. It represents introspection, contemplation, self-communion, a dance that merges with the landscape until it becomes an integral part of it.
This show is a vibrant call to overcome paralyzing fears, an encouragement to let go, to regain rhythm, energy and confidence. It urges us to live fully, to feel intensely, if only for a brief moment.
