Signal de Bougy leisure park in Vaud is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Created as a result of solidarity between the communes near the park and the Fédération des coopératives Migros, it has offered since its creation a play and rest area for the whole family. On the occasion of this jubilee, new animations respecting COVID-19 measures have been organized around the outdoor areas.
The history of Signal de Bougy began in 1969 when promoters wanted to acquire the Signal de Bougy hotel and its land to create a clinic. The surrounding communities opposed this project in order to keep the site accessible to the public. They then had to find a solution that would meet the maintenance needs of the 110 ha park and its development. They contacted the Fédération des coopératives Migros which, thanks to the support of the Pour-cent culturel Migros, founded the Fondation Pré vert du Signal de Bougy on July 9, 1970. The park was inaugurated one year later. The challenge was met: families and walkers could continue to enjoy this preserved site.
Let's celebrate this anniversary together
On the occasion of the celebration of this 50th anniversary, new activities have been developed offering entertainment in accordance with COVID-19 restrictions. A free game invites visitors to solve riddles published on an App.
The theme evolves with the seasons, allowing walkers to rediscover the park in a fun way. The history of Signal de Bougy will be exhibited in the park from May 8 in the form of a free quiz whose questions trace the evolution of the place.
Various thematic workshops will also be offered during the year. For the more athletic, it will be possible for families to participate in an activity such as yoga or zumba. The "Petit fermier" workshop continues to offer magical moments to children. In the teaching garden plot, inaugurated in 2020, young gardeners will be able to try first hand organic gardening. They will sow, plant, maintain and harvest seasonal vegetables. They will observe the insects in the garden and taste the fruits. The program is completed by songs, stories, games and crafts around the garden and nature.
The complete program can be found on the website.
