Since we reported on the launch of Geneva’s new gastronomic restaurant, Le Chef, a couple of years ago, the neo-industrial style restaurant has established a strong reputation for producing high quality, authentic dishes with a global twist. Situated on on the third floor of the public zone of Geneva Airport, with spectacular views over the airport runways and Jura mountains, the restaurant has continued to use local produce from the Romand region to create an exciting and varied menu that changes with the passage of seasons.
The first dining experience of its kind in Switzerland….
Never one to rest on his laurels, Benjamin Luzuy and his team have now decided to embark on a new culinary journey – the first of its kind in Switzerland - with the help of a diminutive animated chef, called “Le Petit Chef”.
Using cutting edge 3D visual technology, Le Petit Chef takes diners on a 2-hour, fully choreographed dining journey in the footsteps of Marco Polo, traveling from Marseilles to Arabia, through India and the Himalayas, and finally to China.
The Dinner Time Story, which includes a six-course menu, describes Marco Polo’s unique culinary journey along the famous silk route, and draws on a myriad of flavors, ingredients, sights, sounds and tastes to create a unique sensory experience for diners.
The mood, music, table patterns, props and decoration all change with the chapters of the story to immerse the diners into one continuous 3D projected tale.

Called Le Petit Chef – In The Footsteps Of Marco Polo this unique Dinner Time Story experience is available from 30 March 2018, 7 days a week from 19h30 to 21h30, and weekends from 12h to 14h. Reservations must be made online and guests must arrive half an hour before their booking starts.
The 6-course meal (see menu above) costs Fr. 129.- per person, not including drinks, although there is a special wine pairing package priced at Fr. 29.- each. There are no reductions for children.
Le Petit Chef Dessert
If you just want to get a feel for what is on offer, there is a special Dessert option, which is available every day of the week at any time, costing Fr. 19.-. No reservation is required for this.
Please note that the "show" is in French only and that 2 different menus will be offered, i.e. chicken or vegetarian.
The story behind Le Petit Chef
Measuring just 58mm, Le Petit Chef was first created by a Belgian studio, called Skullmapping, and became famous on YouTube and social media, viewed by millions of people worldwide.
The studio’s video mapping technology enables light or videos to be projected onto objects and, in the case of Le Petit Chef, provides a unique dining experience when images are projected throughout your meal onto a white table cloth from a projector located above. With careful timing and additional props the story of Marco Polo’s adventures along the silk route is a multi-sensory experience that will enchant you at every stage of your 6-course dinner.
First launched as a gastronomic spectacle last October in Dubai, the Dinner Time Story animation has become such a huge success that restaurants around the world are now queueing up to invite Le Petit Chef to meet their diners! Following trips to London, Berlin, and Stockholm, he will come to Geneva for the first time on 30 March and stay until 1 July 2018, before taking a short summer break, and returning again in September 2018 until February 2019.
