Following the promotion of the Hotel d’Angleterre’s recent photo shoot competition on our website, we are pleased to announce that one of our biggest fans, Anne Kerr, was the lucky winner!
Not only did Anne have the opportunity to spend a couple of hours with world-renowned studio photographers, Studio Harcourt, she was also invited with her husband to enjoy the Hotel d'Angleterre's famous afternoon tea, overlooking Lake Geneva!
Describing the photo shoot to knowitall.ch, Anne told us, “It was an amazing experience, one I will never forget! The attention to detail was incredible, not just setting the scene for each photo with all their special lighting (they don’t use flash), but also making sure my make-up was “just right” with lots of last minute touches to create the perfect shot. I had lots of photos taken of me in different outfits in different corners of the room – I can’t wait to see the photos when they are printed! I really had no idea until now how much work went into one of their photo shoots!”
As if that wasn’t enough of a treat, Anne returned to the hotel a couple of days later with her husband to enjoy the hotel’s traditional afternoon tea in their Windows restaurant. Not being avid tea drinkers, Anne wondered how much they would enjoy the experience, but she couldn’t have been more surprised! She explained, “The view over the lake from the restaurant is amazing, so we were impressed before we’d even sampled the tea! The staff were also wonderful in helping us choose the best tea from their exclusive Betjman and Barton selection of black, green, white and red teas, which would “suit our mood and taste”. The Chinese White tea, served in magnificent Victoria & Albert porcelain china, was the perfect choice for us – both delicious and refreshing - we are now converted tea drinkers!”
She continued, “There was so much food that we hardly needed to eat for the rest of the day. The delicate finger sandwiches, delicious pastries and scones served with Gruyere Double Cream and home-made jam were such a treat – although next time we may need to bring our boys to help us do justice to all the food!”

The menu for this lunch changes every 2 weeks, uses seasonal food wherever possible, and is always based on a special theme such as Philippino food. The three course menu costs CHF 59.- per person, or CHF 72.- per person if accompanied by a glass of wine, a cup of coffee and water.
