In today’s high pressured, fast moving environment, it’s hard to imagine how anyone has the time to think about healthy living.  It’s all too easy to grab the first thing you find in the food cupboard and jump into the car to your next appointment, instead of investing the time in preparing something more nutritious or attending an exercise class.

To help you make this transition to a more healthy way of living, health coach and yoga teacher, Ceylan Ayik has created a new business whose aim is to empower busy women on their journey to becoming happy, healthy role models for their children, family and friends.  Indeed, she is passionate about helping them to transform their minds, health and bodies through optimal nutrition and yoga.

Ceylan’s journey from corporate marketing to yoga and nutrition coaching

So what inspired Ceylan to set up her own healthy living business in Geneva?  Ceylan explained, “Five years ago when I moved to Geneva, quit my job and became an “expat wife”, I took the time to reassess my approach to nutrition and living, and started the Fitgurme blog. Back then, I was beginning to understand how vital good food and exercise were to keep my family both healthy and happy.”

She continued, “My passion for this new lifestyle led me to study at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York City where I became a qualified Health Coach in 2015. That same year I began to feel a deep connection with yoga. Not only is this practice great for a calmer mind and flexible-stronger body but, along with good nutrition, yoga enables you to keep up with your wellness goals. The connection between food and exercise led me to expand my coaching skills to help people reach their overall wellness goals; and thus, my yoga journey began!”

In January 2016, Ceylan received her first 200-hour teaching certificate. She specialised in Power Yoga which combines stretching, cardio-strengthening and relaxation.  She went on to receive her 100-hour Hatha (and Antastha) yoga training in Goa, India, and is now completing her second 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training back in Switzerland.

A range of services for healthy living

Through her new business, “Ceylan Ayik Nutrition & Yoga”, Ceylan offers a range of services targeted at busy women of all ages.  These include:

  • Healthy Living Coaching: Ceylan coaches clients on a range of topics including: meal and menu planning; healthy shopping; delicious and healthy cooking; nutrition coaching for the family; exercise planning; and sleep, digestion and self care.  Before making any decision about signing up for coaching, however, clients have the option of discussing their needs and expectations with Ceylan first, via a free 30-minute online consultation. Following this first “meeting”, Ceylan can then, at your request, prepare a coaching plan, which works best with your schedule.  Future sessions cost Fr. 100.- each, with 10% discount for advance bookings of 10 or more.   • 12 Week Yoga and Nutrition Program: This is a holistic weight loss program designed for modern homemakers, working moms and career women, who want healthy and fit bodies without crash dieting, spending hours in the gym or sacrificing on tasty wholesome food. The full program includes twice weekly yoga classes, meal plans, shopping lists and recipes along with a 3-hour cooking class, healthy grocery shopping trip, pantry remake, healthy living and weight loss coaching, continual support and much more.   • Yoga Classes: Ceylan’s yoga studio is at her home in Chambésy, with a view of her tranquil garden.  Classes are small with no more than 6 students per group.  There is currently a daily schedule of morning classes, covering both Power and Antasha yoga. Group classes cost Fr. 30.- each, private classes cost Fr. 80.- each, and semi-private classes for 2 people cost Fr. 90.- for the class.   • Workshops: Ceylan has an active program of workshops on a range of themes including: Healthy, Happy, Body & Mind for Lifetime; Healthy Snacking and Lunch Boxes; Detox 101 and Smoothies; Sugar Addiction, replacing sugar and over coming the cravings; Sustainable Weight Loss Tips, and For students: Your Road to Health.
