A leading nanny and babysitting agency has opened up a new franchise in Switzerland, filling a gap in the local market for childcare recruitment.

Called Rockmybaby, the new business was set up at the end of last year by Tanya Jeannet, a Swiss national who was born in South Africa but moved to Switzerland 5 years ago, where she now lives with her husband and two little girls.

Tanya told knowitall.ch, “With two young daughters of my own, I know only too well the challenges of working and having children. I am determined to provide a service to families that will help make life a little easier and make them feel confident in the care of their children, whilst allowing them to have some well-deserved time out for themselves.”

She added, “Over my career, I have worked in corporate environments, providing recruitment services to clients across different industries ,which has provided me with a sound background in the human resources area of recruiting.”

As part of the Rockmybaby® Group, founded in New Zealand in 2006 and now the largest agency of its kind in Australasia,  Tanya’s business is able to take advantage of the organization’s award-winning website that operates 24/7, and which provides quality, competitively priced child-care services to families across Switzerland. In Geneva and Vaud, these services include:

  • Nanny search and recruitment services / live-in and live-out
  • Emergency nannies
  • Overnight care / proxy parenting
  • Babysitter bookings
  • Maternity nursing

Rockmybaby® will help with all stages of the recruitment process, providing advice on interviewing and employment contracts as required.  There are no upfront membership or application fees.  A placement fee is charged only if employment is offered to one of their nannies. There is a standard agency fee that applies when making a babysitting booking online.

All nannies and babysitters are interviewed by Rockmybaby before they can become a  Rockmybaby approved child-carer.  They must also be over the age of 17 years and have a minimum of 2 years experience. In addition,  they need at least 2 years of child-related references, and must possess a Criminal Clearance Check. They should also have knowledge of basic first aid and own a valid work permit for Switzerland.

What makes Rockmybaby particularly unique is the ease and speed with which clients are put in touch with potential child-care professionals.  By going on the Rockmybaby website, parents can book a sitter at 11 o'clock at night without having to talk to anyone over the phone, confident in the knowledge that anyone they book will already have been vetted by the organziation. When a sitter accepts an invitation to babysit, the client will then receive more details about the babysitter's credentials before the sitter rings to introduce themselves to the client.

One couple from Geneva told knowitall.ch, “Tanya helped us find a nanny for our newborn by sending us the CVs, then by interviewing on our behalf a number of potential nannies. She did extensive due diligence with us to find out what our needs were and followed up with very relevant recommendations.”

They continued, “We have met three of those recommended candidates in person at our home and another one by skype and were very happy with the work that Tanya did on our behalf - to the point where we have actually recommended Tanya's services to another couple with whom we went to our birthing preparation classes.”

discount-button150newTo help spread the word about her new business, Tanya is offering a 5% discount to any knowitall.ch clients employing a nanny or booking a babysitter through her site. The offer is valid until the end of October, 2013 - just enter the code NEWCLIENTS when you make your booking online.
