Try out a free creative art workshop with ALLMINDS
If you’re interested in developing the creative skills of your children but are not quite sure where their talents lie, then you may like to book a place on one of the new taster workshops that ALLMINDS will be hosting at Webster University on Saturday, 10 December.
With subjects ranging from life drawing, graphics, and photography through to media studies and fashion marketing, the new workshops will provide youngsters aged between 14 and 19 years of age the opportunity to check out “first hand” the range of facilities availability, as well as the quality of the programmes and coaching on offer. The Fashion Marketing course will be open to all ages.
ALLMINDS is a non-profit making education platform that has been operating in Geneva since 2009. One of the founding coaches, Stephen Preece told knowitall.ch,
“The inexhaustible demand for academic results means that traditional schools and colleges can't design courses which stray very far from the mainstream curriculum, or run courses purely for enjoyment, relaxation or self-development.”
“ALLMINDS was set up to be different. We're passionate about learning and want to pass on our passion and inspire our learner’s in stimulating and enjoyable ways. Unlike traditional schools, we are small enough and flexible enough to provide a variety of courses which are not just interesting but fun.”
The ALLMINDS approach is to develop a community of learners - of all ages - through their educational activities and online presence. The organization aims to build a learning community where everyone - including: social entrepreneurs, non-profit professionals, philanthropists, the retired, parents, teachers and children - can share resources, learn together and inspire each other.
ALLMINDS’ courses are led by professionals, referred to as 'coaches', not teachers or lecturers. Staff belief strongly that students should be coached by guiding and inspiring them, not by dictating what they should do. All coaches are highly qualified and practising professionals in their respective fields, with many years' teaching and professional experience.
ALLMINDS runs a variety of workshops, course and trips, largely focused on the visual arts. In addition to the courses being showcased on their free taster day, the organization is also looking to develop courses in audio/video. In addition, ALLMINDS provides potential university entrants with individual coaching in portfolio preparation. Life and career coaching for clients of all ages is another strand in their activities, as are educational trips to London and Milan.
ALLMINDS courses are currently run in Geneva in the classrooms of IPACDesign and Webster University.
