While most parents will have already sorted out places for their children in local schools, there is a small group of families who are still looking for the best school for their kids.
To help parents during this difficult decision-making process, Lake Léman International School (LLIS) in Morges, Vaud, is inviting students to come and experience their school for a day, and is also offering last-minute enrolments for the 2014-15 academic year. This is a great opportunity, especially if you’ve recently moved to Switzerland from abroad and your kids are having trouble adjusting to the new environment and school system. The school welcomes children from the ages of 3 to 14.
Parents are welcome to visit the school and speak to teachers about dealing with any feelings of apprehension, anxiety or frustration that can arise when starting at a new school. A no-obligation trial run at LLIS should help to make the transition as smooth as possible.
For more information about their trial days or to find out how to enrol children even at this late stage, you are requested to call the school on 021 811 00 22.
If, however, you're planning ahead to the future and think that LLIS might be a suitable school for your child in a year or two's time, then you are welcome to attend any of the LLIS Open Days, which are held every first Wednesday of the month. These are essentially drop-in sessions so that you can visit the school at your convenience. The next open day is on 3 September, followed by 1 October, and runs from 9am-3pm. Click here to see the full Autumn schedule.
If these dates don't work for you, then you are invited to schedule a personal visit at the school. You can also find out more about Lake Leman International School in the new editions of Education Guide Switzerland and (Page 259) and Know-it-all passport (Pages 450 and 453).
