A once in a life time opportunity to murder your work colleagues!
With many companies under increasing pressure to reduce their costs, budgets for staff entertainment and training are two areas that frequently come under scrutiny. Team building courses and staff night outs are amongst the first items to be axed from departmental budgets.
Bi-lingual, social and cultural networking organization, Le Café Vivant, has come up with an innovative idea to enable companies to develop the communication skills of their employees, in an amusing and entertaining way that is sure to be classed one of the “best night outs” on the company!
Their new Murder Mystery evenings, have been designed to enable work colleagues meet and mingle with their counterparts, at a special event that is full of mystery and intrigue. Le Café Vivant’s Murder Mystery evenings usually involve between 14 to 120 participants, typically with a male to female ratio of 70 to 30. Two weeks before the event, each guest will receive a personalized invitation that includes details of their character, with suggestions on how to dress and what accessories to include.
On the day of the event, participants are asked by facilitators to put aside their inhibitions and immerse themselves fully in the character assigned to them. As colleagues are introduced to each other over cocktails, they soon forget the hidden tensions of work and enjoy the process of finding out more about their fellow guests, each driven by their quest to reveal the identity of the murderer or murderess.
The “game” continues over dinner where more clues are revealed, and police and medical reports are announced. Following the intervention of various guests, the identity of the suspect is gradually revealed. Once the suspect has been identified, everyone can let their hair down and party the evening away to a live band or disco.
Each evening can be tailored to the specific requirements of the organization booking the event. Actors may be used to add a new dimension to the evening, especially if the participants are naturally more introverted and less experienced in team building activities. Dinner may be formal or informal, sit-down or standing as required. Themed music can be provided and different prize options are also available such as “best costume”. Companies may choose to offer framed photographs as souvenirs of the evening.
One well-known bank in the region recently booked an evening with Le Cafe Vivant and had this to say about their experience:
