1203 GRAINES: SEED EXCHANGE To celebrate the arrival of spring and the sowing season, La Grainothèque de Saint-Jean and the 1203 Graines association invite you to the 4th Foire aux Graines! It will take place in Saint-Jean on the afternoon of April 5, 2025, from 2 to 4:30 pm. The Fair is an opportunity to exchange seeds and experiences with other gardeners, share practices around sowing and cutting, and learn more about harvesting and preserving your own seeds. The half-day event is open to both experienced and novice gardeners, and to those who grow both in the ground and in pots on the balcony. Workshops - for adults and children aged 4 and over - will be led by professionals: sowing workshop, seed conservation workshop, gardening Q&A workshop, meetings with urban gardeners. 1203graines The Grainothèque de Saint-Jean is a permanent seed exchange center. Anyone can drop off, pick up or exchange seeds, free of charge. Its aim is to inspire everyone to get their hands in the soil - you don't need a garden to plant a seed, just a little pot! The Grainothèque promotes the exchange of materials and knowledge, and encourages the cultivation of flowers and vegetables in the city. You can bring your own seeds, and pick up the ones you need. You can also draw on the library's collections to learn more about seeds, flowers, vegetables and nature. By raising awareness of the importance of the freedom to produce and exchange one's own seeds, the Grainothèque allows you to discover unmarketed varieties. The Grainothèque de Saint-Jean is a partnership between the association 1203 Graines and the Saint-Jean library. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 4pm to 6.30pm, you can ask any questions you may have about growing your own seeds. For further information, visit |
