Sometimes we can be completely overwhelmed by the world news. We may also feel a range of negative emotions like anger, sorrow and even despair. We can feel powerless in the face of war and tragedy. We can get ‘empathy fatigue’ and turn away from events so seemingly out of our control then feel guilty that our very humanity is draining away. How can we respond in a more desirable manner? Can we cope differently and avoid being overwhelmed? More importantly still, what contribution can we make to help the world? We are not powerless. Come and discuss how we can respond consciously to global crises. ConsciousCafe Geneva is a place where curious people can meet to have meaningful conversation in a respectful and friendly, warm-hearted way. You buy your own drinks at the bar and we ask for a 5chf contribution to the running costs of the international ConsciousCafe organisation which is totally run by volunteers. Join us on the 2nd November for a café event that we hope will be helpful as well as being very sociable. Café de la Place New attendees are always welcome, the hosts will be there from 18h15. |
