Royal Classical Ballet "The Nutcracker" From site: The Nutcracker is a two-act ballet by Pyotr Tchaikovsky to a libretto by Marius Petipa based on the fairy tale by E. T. A. Hoffmann The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. The premiere took place in 1892 and caused conflicting responses: from sincere admiration to complete rejection.
