LUGANO: SUMMER JAMBOREE ON THE LAKE
From Thursday 09 June 2022
To Sunday 12 June 2022

summerjamboreelugano

Four days of entertainment on the notes of American music and culture of the 40s and 50s.

The contagious energy of the Summer Jamboree, the International Festival of the culture of America in the 40s and 50s, the largest in Europe, arrives in Switzerland for the first time on the shores of Lake Lugano.

The Festival, organized by the Summer Jamboree and promoted by Lugano Region with the sponsorship of the city of Lugano, will take place from June 9th to 12th 2022.

The Festival program includes:

  • Four extraordinary days of free concerts on two stages in Piazza della Riforma and Boschetto Ciani (Parc Ciani), with international artists who are writing the history of Rock'n'Roll in all its musical forms, bringing an irresistible wave of music, dance and entertainment.
  • In addition to the live concerts, there will be record-hops in various places in the city with the best DJs in the world and the Burlesque Show and Cabaret.
  • Between Piazza Manzoni and Riva Albertolli, there will be a Vintage Market with antiques, collectibles, clothes, shoes, accessories, vintage objects and reproductions.
  • A Street Food & Beverage area.
  • Oldtimers Park of American cars before 1969.
  • A Barber Shop will be set up at Riva Albertolli.
  • Free Swing and Rock'n'Roll lessons will be offered to learn the first dance steps, and there will be an after-festival to continue dancing all night long.
  • The Summer Jamboree on the Lake Dance Camp will be held in the Centro Esposizioni: a "full immersion" in learning dances with, as teachers, some of the best dancers in the world.
  • And from June 2 to 19, 2022, the prestigious rooms of Villa Ciani will host the immersive photographic exhibition Rock'n'Roll is a State of the Soul. The exhibition, through the eyes of the Summer Jamboree and thanks to the great photographers who were able to capture memorable moments of joy experienced in the 1920s, tells the essence of what Rock'n'Roll was and is and what, over time, has become the largest festival of its kind in Europe.
