Every spring, Le Salon du Livre brings together readers, authors, publishers and booksellers for five days.

An event as welcoming as exciting, the fair brings together visitors from all generations and cultures around the theme of reading, thanks to an eclectic, captivating and constantly renewed program.

Each year, a host of meetings and debates with authors from all literary genres take place on the seven stages of the fair: the forum, the boudoir, the loges, the comic book stage, the chalet (formerly the Swiss stage), the terrace (formerly the bien-vivre stage), the fenêtre sur le monde and its four partner stages: the Cercle de la librairie et de l'édition Genève, L'îlot Jeunesse de Payot Libraire, CICAD and the espace des cultures arabes - L'ICAM. The presence of publishing houses of all sizes, multi-disciplinary events and original exhibitions complete this convivial, joyful and, above all, accessible interlude.

The flagship of the French-speaking world in Switzerland, the salon welcomes authors, publishers and editors from France, Belgium, and Quebec every year to promote the French language in all its diversity. As the largest publishers' fair in French-speaking Switzerland, it is also an important forum for Swiss literary news, thanks to the presence of numerous Swiss authors and publishers.

A selection of foreign-language works is also on offer for non-French-speaking visitors and those curious to discover literature in its original language.

At the same time, every year, the “rendez-vous professionnels” bring together players in the book industry to exchange ideas and reflect on various themes. Organized since 2015, this professional component, which is divided into a number of highlights, opens its doors to the general public, offering everyone the opportunity to take part in enriching encounters.

Over the years, the Geneva Book Fair has confirmed its essential role in teaching and promoting reading, as well as its prominent position on the international French-language book scene.
