Dear friends,

I am very pleased to announce that Kosovar pianists Rinor Aliu and Orgès Isufi will make their Swiss debut on 4 May 2024.

Rinor is a professor of piano at two music schools in Ferizaj and is a very important team member of the Kosovo Musical project and Orgès is one his advanced pupils who is completing a national tour of Kosovo in April and May. Orgès will be starting his Bachelor’s studies in London this September.

The program will be shared by the two artists who will perform works of Scarlatti, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Liszt and two Albanian composers, C. Zadeja and Rafet Rudi.

Entrance is free, but your generous donation will support the Kosovo Musical Project. The Kosovo Musical Project provides instruments and educational equipment for schools as well as classroom music teacher training, music instrument repair technician training (with our partners Luthiers-sans Frontières-UK, and El Jefe Grande piano restoration in Poland), master classes and university admissions assistance for students seeking further education outside of Kosovo.

With our partners, Eliot Trans, the Kosovo Musical Project has sent 30 shipments of donated instruments and equipment over the past 10 years to schools, students and teachers in 6 cities and towns in Kosovo. 3 sets of teacher training workshops in two different location to teachers from 7 different towns have been given. As needs change and new ones arise, the team tries to adjust and address these issues in a timely manner.

The greatest need at the moment is to give further training to our instrument repair technicians in training, and the restoration, repair and transport of 8 grand pianos, two flutes, 1 oboe, two clarinets, and three trumpets.

You can read more about the project at the link above.

I look forward to welcoming you to this exciting musical event!

Julie
