Saturday 27 April 2024

Dear Canettes Enthusiasts and Enthusiastes,

April Showers
The Canettes Blues Band, Geneva's favourite blues band, will be bringing its worldwide tour to the Mr. Pickwick Pub on Saturday, April 27th. You won’t want to miss this show! Specially flown in to Europe from the UK, guests GBD will be gracing Geneva for the very first time. Who knows where this grand debut will take them? Remember when Muddy Waters first opened for the Canettes?

Me neither.

This one-time-only special event will take place downstairs in The Office of The Mr. Pickwick Pub, which is located just a few blocks down from Gare Cornavin on 80, rue de Lausanne. Easy to get to by tram, car, scooter, elephant or camel (just please clean up after yourself, this time).

The Canettes will be featuring an all-star line-up, including whiz-kid guitarist, Joos “Drowning in” Schoonwater, in his debut with the Canettes. If you think Sam “Fast Hands” Carli is mind-blowing, wait until you seem him team up with Joos. The rest of your favourites will all be there: Marc “She Gave Me Gasoline” Dambrine on the bass guitar, Jan “Styx” Dijkstra on the drums, Wojt “Play it in any Key” Krajewski on the keyboard, "The Reverend" Sam Blaire on the harmonica, Kelly “Boogie Girl” Burrows and I on the vocals. Oh yes, and wait till you see my new congas!

This is the show you have all been waiting for! Get there early and grab a bite to eat upstairs or down in the Office. GBD will be on at 9pm, the Canettes at 10pm. And we have a lot of great music for you, including some we’ve never performed before. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your friends’ families. We gonna boogie all night long!

See you!
Doc Steve
