Description
Lake Leman receives an average of 50 tonnes of plastic waste each year. The vast majority of this waste remains trapped in the lake. It is estimated that 580 tonnes of plastic waste settles to the bottom of the lake. The second most important source of plastic waste in the lake is packaging and littering.

If these few facts make you want to act, don't wait any longer and participate in the waste collection organised by Global Shapers Community Geneva and Ne Mégotte Pas!
This collection will take place on Sunday 20 March 2022 from 1pm to 4pm at the Plage des Eaux-Vives.

In addition to cleaning up a public place, our collection aims to raise awareness about the pollution of the lake caused by litter. The waste will be collected, so that at the end of a few hours, the rate of pollution avoided can be calculated.
