THE VILLAGE PLAYERS: THE PHYSICISTS | |||||||
|
|||||||
Dear All, The Village Players are pleased to announce their next playreading on Thursday evening February 17th of Friedrich Dürrenmatt's "The Physicists", directed by Chris Hemmens. Möbius is a physicist and patient on a psychiatric ward run by the hunch-backed Mathilde von Zahnd. His fellow in-patients believe themselves to be Sir Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein respectively. He himself has recurring visions of King Solomon. But who is really mad in this madhouse? And is there some grander plan at work? Perhaps one that holds the fate of the entire world in the balance? “The Physicists” is a Swiss satirical comedy written in 1961 by Friedrich Dürrenmatt in response to the use of nuclear technology in the Second World War. It was first performed in Zürich in German in 1962. Doors & bar open at 7:00pm. Entry free of charge. Covid passes will be checked at the door. See the attached flyer for more details. Looking forward to seeing you then! The Village Players |
