THEATRE DE GRAND CHAMP: LE JOURNAL D’ANNE FRANK
Friday 14 January 2022

Friday, January 14, 2022 at 8:00 pm

IN FRENCH

"The diary of Anne Frank", Théâtre des Osses
Duration: 1h40

Who doesn't know The Diary of Anne Frank? This notebook with a checkered cover filled with a regular writing has become emblematic. And yet it still moves and upsets us.

What can you write day after day when you are thirteen years old and living locked up with your family to escape Nazi persecution?

The Diary of Anne Frank is an intimate account that reveals not only a tragic part of history but also the analytical spirit of a young girl who believes in change and bets on life.

This turbulent, inventive, secretive, rebellious teenager finds in writing the breath needed to survive. But she is also, in many ways, a teenager "like the others": she grows 13 cm in two years, as shown by the small pencil marks on the wall of her hiding place, and sees her body transform. A teenager who would have only wanted to live and make her writing talent explode if human barbarity had not stopped her momentum.
