PROLONGED UNTIL JULY 26TH! 21.01 - 26.07.2020
The Art Museum looks forward to welcoming you again from May 12, 2020.

The exhibition Paris en fête. Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse, Dufy... is extended until 26 July 2020.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Between the end of the 19th and the middle of the 20th century, Paris became the cradle of many artistic avant-gardes. The period is marked by alternating moments of carefree times and years of war, but it is the joie de vivre of the Belle Époque and the Roaring Twenties that takes root in people's minds and offers the City of Light a free, festive and bohemian image.

From Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to Marc Chagall, via the Vaudois of the French capital Théophile Alexandre Steinlen and Félix Vallotton, the artists are the witnesses, the actors of a "Gay Paris" that lives to the rhythm of cabarets and shows. Fashion, leisure activities and literature contribute to this liveliness and appear under the brushes of Raoul Dufy, Kees van Dongen, Henri Matisse and Fernand Léger.

From a large private collection, the works hung on the picture rails of the Musée d'art, most of which are unpublished in Switzerland, give a glimpse of a modern, ardent, audacious and resolutely lively Paris.
