Reopening of the Château de Prangins on 12 May 2020
Following the Federal Council's announcement, the Château de Prangins and the Café du Château will reopen on Tuesday, 12 May 2020 at 10 am. The reopening will take place in accordance with the precautions and measures dictated by the FOPH to protect visitors and staff. Two key events of the year had to be cancelled: the Rendezvous in the garden on Sunday 7 June and the Lunch on the Grass on Sunday 27 September. However, an attractive online offer can be found on the website.
Exhibitions
Following the closure of the museum on 14 March 2020, the exhibition programme had to be readjusted as the exhibitions had been disrupted:
- The new temporary exhibition Love and Sexuality in the 18th Century will open on Ascension Thursday, 21 May at 10 am.
- The opening of the permanent exhibition Indiennes: un tissu à la conquête du monde is postponed to Friday, January 15, 2021.
- The opening of the permanent exhibition on transport in the 18th century Ready to go? Expo jeu pour familles will take place as planned on Sunday 11 October, from 2 pm, the opportunity to welcome the public at a beautiful party for families.
Events
It is with great regret that two key events of the year had to be cancelled: the Rendez-vous in the garden on Sunday, June 7 and the Lunch on the Grass on Sunday, September 27. Since these events were intended for several thousand people, it would have been little responsible to maintain them, since the health and safety of visitors must come first. Nevertheless, the three evenings of Open Air Cinema in collaboration with Visions du Réel remain scheduled from August 27 to 29, until further notice.
Online offer
The confinement gave Château de Prangins the opportunity to set up a more extensive online offer, starting with Les combines du musée. Every Wednesday until the end of June, fun activities to do with the family at home or at school are offered on the website and social networks, to concoct old-fashioned recipes, test one's gardening knowledge and carry out a multitude of creative activities linked to the Château's exhibitions. During the month of May, virtual tours will take the public through the permanent exhibition Noblesse oblige! Castle life in the 18th century and the Vegetable Garden.
Please find the safety instructions for visitors as well as the detailed programme of our various events on the website www.chateaudeprangins.ch.
