MAKING A SUM OF IT: THE CHALLENGES OF ADDITION
Thursday, 26th September, 6-7pm (doors open from 5,30pm)
presented by Jonathan Wilmshurst, Maths Teacher, Oak Hill

This seminar will:

*present the foundations of addition - sound number sense, numerical operations, fluency skills etc.
*highlight some of the common misconceptions that students make with addition
*provide strategies and methods to teach students more efficient approaches to solve addition problems
*suggest multi-sensory approaches and techniques for primary and secondary students

This seminar is suitable for parents/carers and teachers/teaching assistants supporting children of all ages.

It will be presented in English and a certificate of attendance will be provided.
