12:40 : When # 2 Becomes # 1 - China vs. USA
The USA has been the first economy in the world since it bypassed the United Kingdom in 1872. Step by step, the USA became the worldwide reference in many domains: military equipment, technological innovation, university education, movie industry, sodas … The People’s Republic of China experienced an impressive comeback over the last forty years. It is now the largest exporting economy. It is the first market in the world for cars, smartphones, internet, steel, the largest energy consumer, the longest HSR network, has the highest number of unicorns, taking over … the great America. And, it is on the verge of exhibiting the highest GDP in the world. The election of President Trump has opened a period of hostility of the USA towards China. Are we moving towards a change of leadership? What are the plausible scenarios?

Speaker: Dr. Dominique Jolly is Professor of Business Strategy at Webster University Geneva where he chairs the Walker School of Business & Technology.
