ConsciousCafe Geneva meets on Tuesday the 23rd of October from 18h30-20h when we are going to discuss Identity, Nationality and Nationalism.

This subject raises many questions such as:

• Why is our nationality often an important part of our identity?
• Why are many national groups seeking to break their union with others e.g. Brexit, Catalonia, Scotland?
• Why is politics becoming increasingly nationalistic e.g. “USA first”?
• Would the world be more harmonious if we did not have a sense of belonging to our country and race?
• Is it really possible for people to let go of these aspects of their identity and feel they ‘belong’ to the whole human race?

The format at ConsciousCafe is very friendly and we rotate the small groups at the tables so that the conversation changes and you meet new people. It works and there is always a warm, usually uplifting, atmosphere. Having conversations about thought-provoking subjects, even in a light-hearted way, typically creates enjoyable and meaningful connections with others.
