ALL AROUND GENEVA: THE KING’S CEMETERY | |||||||
|
|||||||
The King’s Cemetery Tucked away in a peaceful, green and leafy corner, the ancient cemetery of Plainpalais is a last resting place for a Geneva ‘Pantheon’ of personalities, both local and international whose legacy, deeds or simply ‘being’ influenced our city from the 15th century to the present day. Its name suggests exclusion, but this refuge of repose is ‘open to all’, its serene 'park' decorated with majestic trees, many with a special significance. During our walk through this 'off beat' part of Geneva, we will discover more about the area from the Parc des Bastions to Plainpalais and the Quartier des Bains and learn about the ancient traditions which gave the cemetery its name. Coffee at VROOM after the tour is optional at your own expense.
