As we go through life, we distinguish as clearly as black and white between the good and the bad - we learn to do this from a very young age as we are trained by our well-meaning environment to become an individual who fits in with the expectations of the system and those around us.  So our beliefs about what is good and what is bad are deeply ingrained in us and form the basis of our habits, behaviours and choices we make later in life.

Once established, we use this framework to navigate through life and make conscious choices.  Habitually then, when we don't like our circumstances, we are prompted into action, focusing on the negative results in order to rectify them.  This causes us to focus our energy and time on the negative side of things before the desired circumstances seem even possible.   The downside of leading our lives in this manner - mostly leaping into action when things are not good and having no clear focus and taking little or no action when life seems less pressured by challenges, is that we end up living a life defined by the problems.  And we often feel frustrated that there never seems to be a time when there are no apparent problems, there is always something going wrong.  But the whole purpose of negative experiences is that they prompt us to clearly define that which we actually want in life (and which is at the opposing end of the spectrum).  This is at the core of the Law of Polarity - for every up there is a down, a day is the opposite of a night etc.

So there is another way to live and it is aligned with the universal law of life which is always creative, progressive and positive.  It is the manner in which all processes in nature flow and provide for perpetual continuation and generation of life itself.  To live a life aligned with these principles, it is necessary that we direct our attention differently, towards that which we desire.  This creates a life that is filled with and designed by inspiration and creativity, that which we strive towards, rather than what we are trying to get away from.  It is an imperative that we resist the temptation to eradicate what we perceive as external causes of our discontent and to instead turn to building the desired outcome.  When we do this, we are supported by the very laws of physics which created our living environment and the entire Universe in the first place.

Think about this - say it's winter and we are cold.  Will we work with the cold in order to get away from it?  Of course not.  Likewise, we do not work with the cold and heat simultaneously in order to get warm.  We build a fire and work with the heat.  As we gather around the fire, we enjoy the heat that comes from it and we become warm.  We build warmth and the cold naturally disappears.

Remember this as you go about fixing things in your life that don't seem to work the way you would like them to.  And if things seem particularly challenging, ask yourself — what would be at the opposite end of the spectrum of this situation?  what might be the possible good trying to emerge from it?  Discuss this with someone close to you who is willing to look for the positive side of things or contact me and I will gladly have that conversation with you.

To your greatness!
