CARNAVAL BASEL
11-14 March 2019 (highlight on Wednesday 13 March)

Basel Fasnacht is one of the biggest in Switzerland and is an extraordinary event. Although not in our immediate region, it is worth the drive there and back. No need for a hotel as the party lasts all night! Enormous street parades including a public street party and other entertainment with elaborate costumes and masks is what you will expect of this event. An insane amount of confetti is used and you will have to wade through it on the day of the big parade — note: you will also find confetti for months afterwards in your shoes, clothes, and bags!
