If you are looking for an English-speaking doctor in the Morges area, then we have one that was recently recommended to knowitall.ch, Dr. Sara Heyse.
Dan L. wrote this fabulous email to us, "I went to see Dr. Sara Heyse two years ago in Nyon. I had a problem which troubled me for a while and none of the doctors I saw were able to point me in a clear direction. They just recommended to take various tests and exams. When I saw Dr. Heyse, she listened to me carefully and she found the correct diagnose. She prescribed the treatment as well as mesotherapy. I followed her advice and am now recovered. I am still seeing Dr. Heyse regularly at her clinic is in Morges; I think that it is worth the trip. I feel good each time after seeing her. For me, Dr. Heyse is a very good doctor. She speaks excellent English and she is a very good listener. She enables and empowers me in my healing process. I highly recommend Dr. Heyse."
And another glowing referral from Elina V., "Dr Heyse is an exceptional physician, who meets each of her patients at a personal level and is a wonderful listener. She is a warm and welcoming doctor, who makes you feel very comfortable even when you are not at your best. The professional advice she has given me was to the point and was what I needed. I would sincerely recommend Dr. Heyse's services to others in the region. I have dealt with her in English, but I also know that she speaks fluent French."
Can you please explain your line of work?
I am writing this text in the middle of the Corona virus crisis. It doesn't feel appropriate to talk a lot about myself but rather what moves me to do this profession. I have such great respect for nature that I wanted to serve our community by advocating for the beauty of our bodies and souls. I strongly believe that if we can honour and respect the equilibrium in nature, we can live happily and in great health until our time is up here on earth. My everyday work is mainly focussed on encouraging people to listen to their bodies. When symptoms and health issues come up, it is up to us to decipher the message. What is out of equilibrium? What habits, dogmas, ideas or views do we need to change to recover our balance?
As a physician, my task is to help translate this message and to help patients to find their natural balance. During my years in practice I started applying several tools such as phytotherapy (management and prevention of disease with plants), orthomolecular medecine (with vitamins and nutritional supplements) and mesotherapy (tiny injections under the skin with natural products) to support the body. Fortunately we also have access to wonderful medication that we can prescribe when needed. I feel so grateful that I have the luxury to combine conventional medicine and complementary medicine in my day to day practice.

As I celebrated the New Year with my family, I asked each one of them what they would like to give back – the answers were:
- to continue to raise money for a friend’s education in Africa
- to lower personal plastic consumption
- to be vegan 2 x week (at least)
- to continue eradicating waste at school through a special committee
- and to befriend an older person in the community.
I was proud. As for me, I want to continue on my minimization of plastics and to create a pace where I am able to enjoy the moments without wishing them away. And… because of who I am, I want to continue my adventure to a healthier gut!
Where are you with your thoughts for 2019?
Want to join me on the path of a healthier gut (and mind)? If so, I invite you to participate in one of my Healthy GUT….Healthy YOU, 4 week workshops starting 17 January.
This course is a great way to get to know your body (and its limits) and to take note of what is over ‘committing’ in the physical and emotional sense.
I recommend people do my workshop twice a year, as it gets you back to basics and thinking about a healthier way of living. If you have already done one course then why not try it again? You do have the tools but from personal experience, it’s much easier to do it with others.
When Lindsay Moody moved to Switzerland in 2013 from the UK she was surprised that sunbed shops here do not provide a spray tan service. So she did what any entrepreneur would do in this situation — she set up a business providing year-round airbrush tanning solutions!
It wasn't as simple as all that. She needed to first complete a Sienna X training course. She admits, "I have always had a passion for fake tans being of Celtic origin and thus quite pale! I am also a firm believer in staying out of the sun, looking after your skin and keeping it healthy. Sadly, the number one enemy is the sun. We all want a tan but a tan is just sun damage and is your skin’s way of telling you it’s being damaged, dark spots, premature aging, wrinkles, and in the worst case scenario, skin cancer."
Not only is this treatment with immediate results but a great confidence-booster, particularly in the grey winter months. Sunless tanning is perfect for a simple pick-me-up, parties, weddings, pre-holiday, special occasions, and perfect for naturally pale skins that burn and never tan. The custom airbrush spray tan is a 1-on-1 personalized spray tanning session done in privacy. The process takes around 10-15 minutes for a full body spray tan and takes around 6-8 hours to develop. The "One Hour Tan" is also available and can be washed off after one hour and the color develops over 2-4 hours. (designed for people that want to quickly wash off the color guide and not sit around in tan for hours while it develops).
Lindsay said, "I found spray tanning is the perfect business to run alongside my current home and life commitments. I am a mother of 3 young boys and it provides me with a sense of fulfilment outside my busy role of mother and wife."

If you’re looking for a fun way to get involved in raising money for charity, then the English Speaking Cancer Association has just come up with a great idea!
Rather than organizing a single event to raise funds, they are inviting the public to organize their own parties, all on the same day: 5th May, or Cinco de Mayo as they say in Spanish.
Cinco de Mayo is an annual festival in the US, originally commemorating the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French forces of Napoleon III on 5 May 1862. Now a relatively minor festival in Mexico, it has gained a significant following in the US, evolving into a celebration of Mexican-American culture and heritage.
With this in mind, ESCA is inviting the public to get out their sombreros, buy in the tacos and tortillas, and put on their pointy dancing boots to organize a series of Cinco de Mayo Mexican Fiesta theme parties, the likes of which Switzerland has never seen before!
To make the task easier for you, the association has provided a handy guide that will help you through the process of inviting friends and, of course, raising money: all donations from your Fiesta will enable ESCA to carry on providing emotional support and practical help to all those affected by cancer in this region – free of charge.
